When Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Texas A&M University, she would have never guessed she would go on to manage the finances of an international business. Kim’s aspirations to be a business owner began to materialize upon meeting her husband Norm Sugg in Albuquerque. She had completed a PhD in Physiology from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor and had completed postdoctoral fellowships in Tucson and Albuquerque.

Independence. Being your own boss. These are the things that inspired Kim Mayfield and Norm Sugg to start Construction Solutions, Corp. in 1999. Norm’s successful strategies in sales, paired with Kim’s bookkeeping, led to great success. Within a few years Construction Solutions, Corp. was a multi-million dollar company with international customers.

Because of her success as a research scientist, Kim had a natural talent for numbers. While her husband handled the sales, Kim helped build the business through managing financial information day-to-day.

Kim knows first-hand how strong bookkeeping can impact the success of a business. Kim and Norm watched their business grow by maintaining diligent financial records. With the ability to carefully review every transaction and expenditure, Construction Solutions, Corp. was able to expand into an international business.

After Norm died in April of 2012, Kim closed Construction Solutions, Corp. Later that year, she opened Provision Business Services, LLC with the hopes of helping other New Mexico businesses grow in the same way she helped Norm: through strong, diligent bookkeeping.
